Blast. Wish I wasn't so late on this. Ah well. =/

Anyway, of course people are going to have more of a problem with it because we now have the ability to spot it out easier. And to be honest, I think it's great we now have these tools and resources to aid us in it, as well as even having the ability to voice our concerns to some of those who are making these decisions. But what is this whole "it's nothing new"?.................... ....... And?...........

"Your thumbnail made me click."

Exactly the same for me. I've been longing to see another game in the series that's based on its earlier style and gameplay.

Lol Well said. It hadn't hit me til you mentioned it, but yeah, there is A LOT of FF cosplay (male and female) at nearly every anime/gaming convention. It almost comes with the territory, it would seem.

Most people that are like this author are usually cut from the feminist/SJW cloth and, let's face it, are very new to gaming. You look at the way they (mostly the feminist spectrum) speak about certain over-the-top character designs, concepts, etc. as if it's som...

Dispatches again......k....

It's like everyday with this gender/identity politics crap in video games. You know, it's becoming really depressing to see the way the current climate this industry is heading thanks to these highly unnecessary "issues" brought about by mostly people who have no real care for it. Now we have developer/publishers actively fixing their gaze and listening to this horse manure, which has no place in this industry, starting to self-...

That was very well said.

That's the thing though, there was NO pressure from their consumer base to begin with. The same with R. Mika's censorship. And yes, it is bad in the context of the original artistic vision being changed because they think it may offend someone or someone claims to be offended. As with many people who discuss anti-censorship in gaming have realized, it will set a bad precedent in the future. First it's nipples, then it's something more significant, and the ball will just keep o...

Their characters, their content, their choice of how they portray them .

Don't like it, make your own. ffs

"I'm whining about stupid people putting their stupid opinions on the Internet"

One could say the same for your opinions. After all, to alter your own content out of fear, or deference to, the sensibilities or preferences (actual or perceived) of others and without overt pressure from any specific party or institution of authority is the DEFINITION of self-censorship. Yet here you are trying to tell us otherwise?

And how exactly would non-nu...

Not this time, friend. This time it's the far left liberal "progressives" who are behind this latest attack on video games. They are the ones who want to censor the media via shaming certain content and labeling it "problematic". The Ultra Conservatives became laughing stocks over the years, and have been basically defeated. They have stopped being taken seriously for the most part a long ago. We aren't in the Jack Tompson and religious zealot era anymore. It's...

Still peddling that nonsense about DoAX being a "marketing ploy"? smh Why in blazes would Harada need THIS of all things to help promote one of the biggest fighting games\THE biggest 3D fighter of all time? At best, it's just a joke.

.......The hell? Have these guys learned nothing from the Streisand Effect that helped fuel GamerGate in the first place? They cannot hide this. lol

CheatCC's Dispatches and their daily "Click Fishing", it would seem.

LMAO But yeah, and it's also funny that you NEVER see anyone with a straight face talk about a male Samus, Peach, etc. but you always see the other way around. Just make your own.

But hey, as the saying goes:
Feminism - without double standards, they'd have no standards

Or something like that. :/

*Sigh* More of this gender/identity politics in gaming again? No one is obligated to pander to a certain group. If you want representation so badly, make your own. If a company had all of their development teams make nothing but only straight, white men as the main character for every game they make for the next 100 years, that's just fine. Nothing would be stopping them from doing such, and nothing would stop you from doing the same for whatever group you want pandered to. I know if I we...

"The DLC you mention is not important. It's like a minute long. Gee a whole minute or 2 of something optional ruining my 80s hours of play...actually no it has not. You are Barry from the game. Barry is the kind of person who would be bitching about it like you. "

No, clown, I'm anti-censorship when it comes to gaming. Because I've seen where this will likely lead for gaming should it continue to effect it. First it's outfits, line of dialogue, etc...

How is it a "molelhill" when they are withholding content in the name of censorship? If anything, you are minimalizing the situation. The only ones who made a mountain out of a molehill were Nintendo's "treehouse" or whoever oversaw the localization of the game to censor it in the first place.

Don't turn this into a console war thing, no one even brought that up. I know this site is loaded with people with biases for and against certain brands, b...

"No reason"? The altering of dialogue, removal of costumes which ultimately lead to the unlocalization of a DLC scenario, etc. Clearly, no line is drawn for you.

lol Oh bugger off. People cared enough to make an uncensored patch. Try again.

3554d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

They've actually changed and censored lines of dialogue in the localized version, some to accommodate the censorship of outfits in the game, as well as the unlocalization of an entire DLC scenario involving them. Just because it doesn't matter to you, doesn't mean it is minuscule others. It mattered enough to someone overseeing the game to change it in the first place.

Who are you talking to? I don't remember the girl shooting 100+ people. Only 2. It's clear you are resorting to bringing up Orlando, to which I have to ask: What does the Orlando incident or mass shootings have to do with this case? This isn't about the type of gun it was, it's about guns in general, as the OP has said. At no point was that even relevant, for It was a .25 caliber handgun. *rollseyes* The girl was also researching on youtube on how to rob someone. So again, she...
